“Jacob I cant keep picking up your phone I’m busy” I said to Jacob on the phone after literally missing his 12 calls. “OK OK Marcus, don’t get all cranky I am calling you to remind you to bring drinks for the party and yea drinks should be non-alcoholic since Ariana is also coming, I know its not my style but I don’t want Ari to get in to any trouble.” That’s it hearing Ariana’s name I just froze, her brown eyes curly yet perfect wave hair, beautiful smile and that lucious pink lips, I just cant stop imagining her. “Yea of course bro ,I got you! see you at 7.” I hung up on Jacob and went back to work .
“ Yo bro you leaving by 5. Sherman’s gonna be pissed.” Grace said this winking at me. “Yea got school work.” I replied with a smile. Grace was my co-worker and also my friend now that I have been working here for various shifts. On some other occasions I would have asked him to accompany me to the party but the last time I took him and Jacob together we were wasted as hell and I don’t know what happened but we were so wild at that time, but today I wanted to give my attention to Ariana. I have seen Ariana with Jacob for a couple of times. For nearly a year I thought they were dating when I finally got the courage to ask Jacob about it ,he said she was like a sister to him. I don’t know why that was a relief to hear that …. I really don’t know, ofcourse I am not attracted to her[I guess] but I really wish we could be friends. We have been in same class for almost an year and half but she has barely noticed me and I have seen her care for Jacob over the time and I really wish she could atleast acknowledge me. Today when I saw her I abrubtly said Air instead of Ariana. I hope she didn’t really hear it.
Its nearly 6.30 and Jacob has been storming my phone continuously
“what IS IT? Do you think of me as a magician, I am getting there. Don’t worry I got your drinks as you asked me for and a pink drink for Ariana and a Vanilla Latte for Lia.” I screamed. “thank you so much . Now get you ass hear Lee.”Jacob replied.
As I started driving to Jacobs house i saw Lia and Ari standing near the footpath as their cab broke down. Lia as usual was feisty and was screaming at the driver…while on the other hand my Air was standing quietly. She has that calmness on her face. She was wearing the same dress as the on she bought today from the store. Her hair half up and minimal makeup that she always apply. I stopped at the car at the side and got down.
“Hey Lia, Ari what are you guys doing…are you guys okay?”
“ oh you know we like to play a game where we stand out of the car full dolled up and let the driver check car….what do you think dumbass ? our cab broke down!” Lia and her sarcastic comments. As much as these comments were annoying they make my Air laugh …so I just enjoy it.
“no I mean you guys are okay right?...come on get in the car ill drop you guys anyways we all are going to Jacobs only.”
“fine’ Lia said.
They both paid the driver and then got in the car.
Lia took the seat beside me which kinda upset me as I wanted to chat with Ari but knowing her she won’t sit in front with me.
“Ariana I got a pink drink for you. Jacob told that you like it and Lia a Vanilla Latte for you”
“THANK-YOU” Ari said
The ride towards Jacobs house was rough as no one spoke and there was utter silence in the car.
